Making Family Memories are important. As a single income family, sometimes that can be difficult, however, in the last year, my husband and I have been trying to come up with ways to make even more memories with our boys. Especially since my mother passed away from cancer. My husband and I agreed that we needed to start doing more with the boys, especially since they were getting older (I'll have an 18yr old in 6 months, yikes) and will be out of the house soon.
So now is the time to really kick those family memories into high gear!
About two months ago I talked about how I remember watching some of the kids in the neighborhood trying to be Globetrotters aka Globies. We had public parks within a quarter mile of every neighborhood. Most of the neighborhood parks had the standard playground equipment, some also had enough land for a baseball diamond and basketball court. A few even had enough land for a football field for the local kids to play at.
The kids at the basketball courts used to do some alley-hoops, around the worlds, hook shots and more. Unfortunately, my kids don't get to play at the same parks due to them being torn down, over grown or riddled with broken glass or worse.
NA NA I see you taking photos of me!
A couple nights ago, my family was able to experience their first ever Harlem Globetrotters game.
Let me tell you, we had a blast. There was a tiny mix up with communication but, it got handled and we had front row seats to a fantastic show. Check out a few of the photos that we took.
A few tricks before the game begins
My family got mauled by a Moose and a Dizzy! It was absolutely hilarious!
I was kinda disappointed that I couldn't get a good photo/video of what was going on. Maybe I'll find it one day on YouTube.
She is “ballin'” with the big boys!
If you have never been to a Harlem Globetrotter's game, you need to go to at least one in your life. They are so entertaining. The family has a great time, lots of laughs, and you create family memories that will definitely last a life time.
With a star-studded roster featuring Big Easy Lofton, Ant Atkinson, Hi-Lite Bruton, Thunder Law, Bull Bullard and Cheese Chisholm – plus female stars TNT Lister, Ace Jackson and Hoops Green – the Harlem Globetrotters' show is unrivaled in the world of family entertainment. Their 2018 World Tour will showcase incredible ball handling wizardry, rim-rattling dunks, trick shots, hilarious comedy and unequaled fan interaction.
Look at those skills!
After the game, Globetrotter stars will sign autographs and take photos with fans. Check out the items my sons were able to get signed by a few of the players.
Yes, that wristband is signed by Moose himself! He signed it for my son as a “Good Jesture” for wiping his armpits & sweat all over my sons coat! The boys had a blast! Btw…. I think that wristband had more sweat than what he wiped all over my son's coat!
